I received my Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Angelo State University in 1983. I received my Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University in 1990. I have been a licensed professional counselor since 1993, and I am a certified vocational counselor. I have 26 years experience working with students and parents as an educator and school counselor. I began my private practice working with youth and adolescents, and I have now extended my work to include women and young adults.
I enter each counseling session with appreciation for my clients as unique individuals. Listening in an intuitive manner is important to me. While I use a rational, cognitive, behavioral approach to counseling, I am always mindful that we are spiritual beings on a journey through this life. My life experiences have helped mold and mature my counseling skills by increasing my ability to connect with my clients through common human experiences of change, loss and growth. Feminine spiritual growth is a topic of great interest to me.
Family is very important to me. I am married and the mother of five adult children in a blended family. I am happily blessed with grandchildren! I have a large, warm, extended family that includes many pets. I am a vegetarian, and I enjoy music, dancing and art. I welcome the opportunity to work with you on your life's journey.
