Deborah grew up in various places along the West coast. In 1980, she joined the United States Air Force, worked as a medical laboratory technician, and served her entire enlistment in Texas. After her four year enlistment she received an honorable discharge and made Texas her home. She has been married for 26 years and has two daughters. Her oldest daughter is an officer in the Air Force as an Engineer, and her youngest daughter is currently attending Sam Houston State University.
Deborah is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Elementary School Teacher for the state of Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin located in Odessa, Texas. After graduation Deborah and her family relocated to Central Texas where she secured a therapist position at Brookhaven Youth Ranch, a residential treatment facility for adolescent boys. These residents deal with numerous mental and emotional issues including: Depression, ADHD, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders, Abuse issues, and PTSD. Deborah has experience and expertise in adolescent development/behaviors and espouses a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy.
While strongly committed to working with young people, she also possesses an interest in family and couples therapy. Since she is a veteran herself, Deborah wishes to serve Ft. Hood’s active duty military and their dependents with any counseling needs they may require. |
