"Developing healthy relationships don’t just happen. Actually, we all inherit hurtful or dysfunctional habits that we are often unaware of. The good news is that these are learned behaviors and we can choose healthier ways of being together."
She believes everyone has a natural tendency towards growth with respect to:
- an increased awareness of self
- an understanding of one’s own cultural environment
- developing a self directed system of managing stress
Self growth is achievable for anyone willing to do the work!
Cynthie brings a wealth of experience and cultural awareness to her profession. She has lived in Europe and Canada as well as throughout the USA. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and groups.
"In my practice I have found that cultural competence is essential. It has opened up opportunities for me to work with a wide range of individuals from all walks of lives. Through my many travels and work around my own biases I have found that I am able to support others that are outside of their familiar cultural environment. I am direct. I will bring structure and clarity as an advocate for change and growth. Within a specific cultural context, I will aid the client in identifying their mental commentary which can be a barrier for growth and assist them in identifying feelings that might seem confusing or disorienting."
She has 4 grown sons and has been married for 38 years. She enjoys the process of expression through oil painting and pastels. She is always looking for new ways to view this world through art, through work and through relationships.
"There is an internal and external life one has to navigate. When world views and spiritual health are in alignment happiness and wholeness can be achieved."
